  1.       Dates & Venue:

           The 54th APCC Session/Ministerial Meeting is scheduled for 24 – 28 September 2018 and to be held in Malaysia. The venue  of themeeting will be at Royale Chulan Hotel, Damansara, Selangor, Malaysia. (3.1566° N, 101.6085° E)

  1.       Organization of the Meeting and Hosting Facilities:

              The Government of Malaysia, through the Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry holds the Chairmanship of the APCC for CY 2018 and will be the official host of the Meeting. Hon. Salahuddin Ayub, Minister for Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry would be the Presiding Chairman of the Session with the assistance of the APCC Executive Director and the APCC NLO for Malaysia. The Malaysian Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry will provide the hosting facilities of the Meeting including luncheons and  refreshments. A Welcome Dinner on Monday 24 September 2018 would be hosted by the Government of Malaysia whilst the APCC hosts the Delegates Dinner on Wednesday, 26 September 2018.

  1. Hotel Accommodation: All necessary Accommodation

         The Organizer has made reservation at the Meeting hotel for delegates and participants of the APCC Session/Ministerial Meeting.  Delegates are requested to provide their itinerary of travel and full name as well as scanned copy of passport bio page including those for accompanying delegation to the APCC Secretariat at least one month or 30 days in advance to confirm details of hotel room reservation.

  1. Participants of the 54thAPCC Session/Ministerial Meeting

          APCC member countries are represented at the APCC Session/Ministerial Meeting by one Plenipotentiary Delegate. A national Minister in attendance would automatically assume the role of Plenipotentiary Delegate unless otherwise delegated. Senior government officials would comprise the countries’ official delegation. UN related agencies, international or partner organizations, and invited organizations would attend as Official Observer.

  1. Transport arrangements:

                The Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry as the host agency will arrange transport facilities from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to the hotel and vice versa on your arrival and departure. Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2) is another international airport hub which caters for local and international low-cost and full-service carriers. Receipt of information on flight details at the earliest possible time would be much appreciated to enable logistic arrangements including accommodation.

  1. Visa Requirements:

Passport holders of the following APCC member countries are eligible to enter Malaysia without a visa for 30 days: Fiji, Indonesia, Jamaica, Kenya, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Thailand, Tonga, Vanuatu and Vietnam.

Citizens of India and Sri Lanka may apply for and obtain visa through the respective Embassy of Malaysia in India and Sri Lanka or could also apply through Electronic Visa (eVisa) and Electronic Travel Registration and Information (eNTRI) facilities online.

India, Kenya and Sri Lanka would require an International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever to enter Malaysia and it is responsibility of the Participant to organize.

Delegates from other APCC member countries not mentioned above should obtain their Malaysian visa from the Embassy of Malaysia in their country of origin or from the nearest Malaysian Embassies/Consulates prior to their departure from their point of origin.   1. Airlines Servicing Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), Malaysia

There are many major airlines which serve Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) such as Malaysian Airlines, Garuda Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Sri Lankan Airlines, Vietnam Airlines, Thai Airways, Philippine Airlines etc.  Please be advised that Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2) is another international airport hub which caters for local and international low-cost and full-service carriers.

  1. Insurance

 Neither the APCC nor the Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry of the Government of Malaysia will be responsible for personal accidents, medical services, or damage to the private property of participants. It therefore is recommended for participants to make their own arrangements with respect to personal insurance during their stay in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

  1. Airport Departure Tax

Airport tax is levied on passengers leaving Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for ASEAN Countries is RM 35(USD9 and RM 75 (USD19) for international passengers excluding ASEAN Countries.

     12. Currency

The currency used in Malaysia is the Ringgit. The exchange rate against US Dollar is approx US$ 1 = RM 4.10 as of August 2018.

  1. Climate

Malaysia features a tropical rainforest climate with two seasons: rainy and dry. Rainy season lasts from October to March and a drier season covers the remining  6 months (April – September). However, Kuala Lumpur does not have a true dry season since the average annual rainfall is about 285cm.

Average temperatures remains constant throughout the year with average high temperatures at around 30oC and average low temperatures at around 24oC. Kuala Lumpur can be visited all year round.

  1. Field Trip

 An important Field Visit to coconut plantations and coconut product processing plants are held on Friday, 28 September 2018. Attire during the field trip will be casual. Please confirm your participation to the Secretariat during registration.

  1. Welcoming Dinner

The Welcome Dinner will be hosted by Malaysian Government on Monday 24 September 2018 during 8.30 pm – 10.00 pm for all APCC delegates. Kindly provide any meal preference (halal/vegetarian).
